GamesLab Partner
GamesLab is growing — beyond Augsburg. Become a partner and bring game design workshops to your area.
GamesLab for all of Bavaria
Three years, over 1,500 participants, enthusiastic schools: GamesLab has established itself in Augsburg as one of the most successful formats for digital education at schools. But good ideas don’t belong to one city — they belong out in the world.
That’s why we’re opening GamesLab up to partner organisations across Bavaria. We provide the complete concept, the materials, and our experience. You bring the location, the contacts to the schools, and the passion for education.
Traunstein: the first partner
In 2025, GamesLab made the jump beyond Augsburg’s city limits for the first time — to Traunstein in the Chiemgau region. Together with Q3. Quartier für Medien.Bildung.Abenteuer, we ran eight workshops there for students from all school types.
The collaboration worked like this: Q3 approached schools locally, organised the rooms, and provided their own mentors. We sent an experienced mentor to Traunstein for a week to support setup and knowledge transfer. Together, we created new materials in the process — facilitation cards, standardised schedules, better documentation — which now benefit all future partners.
The result: the schools were thrilled. What pleased us especially — the Traunstein GamesLab developed its own signature. While in Augsburg the gaming aspect takes centre stage, the students in the Chiemgau got especially excited about the programming process itself. That’s exactly what we want: every location finds its own approach.
What we offer partners
As a GamesLab partner, you get from us:
- The complete workshop concept — proven schedules for one-day game design workshops with Scratch
- Didactic materials — facilitation cards, schedules, guides for mentors
- Training support — an experienced mentor comes to you and trains your team on site
- Access to GamesLab Studio — the digital platform where students can keep working independently
- Ongoing support — we stay your point of contact and keep developing the format together with you
What you bring
You don’t need to be an IT company. What we’re looking for are organisations that:
- Have access to schools — whether a media centre, education provider, youth organisation, or initiative
- Can provide rooms and infrastructure — a computer room or laptops for one class are enough
- Recruit mentors — young people who want to do educational work
- Want to establish GamesLab long-term — not as a one-off event, but as a recurring offer
The workshops themselves are free for participating schools. For funding the partnership, we’ll find a way together — through municipal funding, sponsors, or foundations.
